Hurricane Sandy relief

LDR-Eastern Pa is helping include assisting families that have been severely impacted by the disaster, and by coordinating the efforts of response with our disaster partners, through our Interfaith Network and through SEPA VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster)

Other ways together we are supporting New Jersey right now include:

  • Collecting flood buckets at churches across Northeast and Southeast Penn for distribution (see lpdr.org for more information)
  • Working though the LDR-NJ Coordinator  to help connect resources here in our region to NJ pastors and and communities in NJ.  Resources include flood buckets, connections to disaster partners, and spiritual care resources.
  • ·If you are interested in more information on the activities in NJ, visit lsmnj.org and jerseycares.org for current volunteer opportunities in NJ.

The Eastern Shore of Maryland was also significantly impacted by Sandy.

·         Please visit  Lutheran Partners in Disaster Response www.lpdr.org for information on how you can help cleanout homes there now.

We are also in great need of volunteers to help with rebuilding after Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee from last year, right here and today! in Northeast Pa.  Please see our website for more information, www.lutherancongregationalservices.org.
