                Food  Pantries
Throughout the year, our   congregations collect food for The Lord's Pantry in Ottsville, The Pantry in  Finesville, NJ and Porject Easton.

The Lord's Pantry and  health clinic  are located at St. John the Baptist  Church, 4050 Durham Road, Ottsville (Rte. 412, 1/4-mile north of Rte.   611). The
Lord's Pantry is  located inside the church and is open Monday 3-5, Tuesday  9-11:30 and Thursday  9:30 to 1:30.  The Ann Silverman  Community Health Clinic is located in the rectory behind the  church and is open  on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Thursdays from  9:30 am  until the last patient is seen.  For information and to schedule an  appointment,  patients should call the main clinic number, 215-345-2260, select  #2. Free dental care is available in  Doylestown.

                 Health   Ministry
The Community Health Ministry  is  made up of nurses, parish nurses, and individuals interested in this   ministry.  Some of the services provided are home visits to shut-ins and people   recently released from the hospital, health articles in church newsletters,   health screenings at church on Sunday and distribution of educational   materials.  During a home visit, the parish nurse may detect signs of a change   in health, something not seen by a non-medical visitor. The nurse can then  alert  a family member or other caregiver. Sometimes a shut-in may have a  physical  condition he or she would not discuss with visitors, but will tell a
nurse.   Parish nurses also provide resources to families with additional  needs.

                 Lutheran Disaster Response
Lutheran Disaster Response  Eastern Pennsylvania is a network of congregations, volunteers and the   Northeastern and Southeastern Synods of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in  America (ELCA).  It is a program of Liberty Lutheran Services and is administered by Lutheran Congregational Services.

Lutheran Disaster Response  Eastern Pennsylvania also partners with the national LDR, a collaborattion of the  ELCA and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. LDR responds to domestic disasters  and assists congregations in preparedness.

Lutheran Disaster Response  Eastern PA seeks to meet long-term unmet needs of communities affected by  disasters, working through teams of volunteers to assist with assessment,  estimates, case management, coordination of volunteers, and rebuilding homes.   Training is provided for work teams and chaplains going into areas affected by  disaster.

LDR Eastern PA is ready to assist  your congregation to take specific steps in preparedness and becoming involved  in local disaster response and if possible, to disasters outside our area.

For more information about volunteer opportunities, please contact Linda Frey at 610-657-4730 or lwfrey@epix.net.
